If I’m honest, I wasn’t very confident about United’s match at Spurs today. I know we have a great record against Tottenham but as City keep winning, the pessimist in me comes to the fore and I expect United to slip up. Even after all the success we’ve enjoyed over the last decade or so. O ye of little faith. I didn’t see the game but from all accounts, it was the perfect away performance. The 3-1 win and 3 points will keep the pressure on City and makes for an exciting final run in.
I didn’t realise that this was Sir Alex’s 986th league match for United, which surpasses The great Sir Matt Busby’s record. He must have been delighted to mark this with such an important win.
We need to really keep the pressure on City until we meet at the end of April. That could be some occasion and become a title decider.
Chelsea have sacked Andre Villas-Boas. How many managers have they been through over the last few seasons? I know Roman Abramovich is desperate for success but surely the constant turnover of managers isn’t helping. Surely he regrets Carlo Ancelloti, who lead them to their first ever Double in 2010, leaving the club? Ah well, that’s their problem. I enjoyed them being our closest rivals over the last few seasons, but not as much as having City take over that mantle. Happy days.
